Reconnecting expired accounts

Why social account connections expire, how to recognize the signs, and how to reconnect quickly to resume publishing.

Why connections expire

Social platforms issue access tokens when you authorize Nowzer. These tokens can expire or be revoked for several reasons:

  • The platform's token has reached its expiry period (common with Facebook and Instagram).
  • You changed your password on the social platform.
  • You revoked Nowzer's access from the platform's app settings.
  • The platform changed its permissions or security requirements.
  • Extended inactivity on the connection.

How to recognize an expired connection

  • A reconnect prompt appears on the Social Accounts page next to the affected platform.
  • Publishing attempts fail with an authorization error.
  • You receive an email notification about an account connection issue (if email notifications are enabled).
  • An in-app notification alerts you that a connection needs to be refreshed.

How to reconnect

1

Go to Social Accounts

Navigate to Social โ†’ Accounts in the sidebar.

2

Find the affected platform

Look for a Reconnect button or warning indicator on the platform card.

3

Click Reconnect

You will be redirected to the platform to authorize Nowzer again. Complete the authorization flow.

4

Verify the connection

After returning to Nowzer, confirm the platform shows as Connected and your destinations are listed.

5

Retry any failed posts

Check your queue or calendar for any posts that failed while the connection was expired. You can retry them from the post details dialog.

๐Ÿ’กReconnecting preserves your setup

Reconnecting does not reset your destinations, queue, or schedule. Your entire configuration is preserved - the reconnect only refreshes the access token.
