Compliance industry settings

How to configure compliance review for your industry, including US Insurance state-level and product-line rules, US General advertising disclosures, and custom disclaimers.

Choosing your compliance category

In Business Settings โ†’ Compliance, you can select one of three compliance categories. This determines which rules are applied when your content is screened.

CategoryWhat it checks
No Compliance CheckCompliance review is disabled. No content is flagged or routed for review.
US InsuranceState and federal insurance advertising regulations. Checks for misleading claims, required disclosures, and state-specific rules based on your operating states and product lines.
US GeneralFTC and FCC advertising disclosure requirements. Checks for deceptive claims, required disclosures, and general advertising compliance.

US Insurance settings

When you select US Insurance, additional configuration fields appear:

  • Operating states - select every state where you hold an active insurance license. Compliance rules vary by state, so accuracy here ensures the right rules are applied.
  • Product lines - select all products you sell (Personal Auto, Homeowners, Life, Health, Commercial, etc.). Different product lines have different disclosure requirements.
  • License number - optionally enter your license number for reference.
  • Auto-add disclaimers - when enabled, Nowzer automatically appends relevant disclaimers to posts that trigger compliance flags.
  • Require acknowledgement for warnings - when enabled, posts with compliance warnings must be explicitly acknowledged before they can be published.
  • Custom disclaimers - add a general disclaimer that can be applied to your content.

US General settings

The US General category checks for FTC and FCC advertising compliance. The same preference options are available: auto-add disclaimers, require acknowledgement for warnings, and custom disclaimers.

โ„น๏ธCompliance review is an aid, not legal advice

Nowzer compliance screening helps catch common issues early. It is not a substitute for professional compliance, legal, or regulatory advice. Always verify your content independently before publishing.
