Writing posts manually

How to create a post from scratch without AI generation, including writing your caption, adding media, and selecting platforms.

Starting a manual post

From the Content โ†’ Create Content page, click Create Manually in the top right. This opens the post editor with a blank canvas where you can write your caption, add media, and select which platforms to publish to.

Writing your caption

Type your post text in the caption area. A character count appears below the text field. Different platforms have different recommended lengths - the preview panel on the right side shows how your post will look on each platform with truncation applied at the platform's limit.

๐Ÿ“Platform character guidelines

Instagram captions are previewed at 125 characters (with a "more" link), Facebook at 125, LinkedIn at 190, X at 280, and Google Business at 80. The full caption is still published - these are the preview truncation points.

AI writing assistance

Even when writing manually, you have access to AI tools in the caption editor:

  • AI Generate - enter a topic and brief instructions, and the AI drafts a full caption for you. You can then edit it freely.
  • AI Improve - select existing text and the AI rewrites it to be more engaging, clear, or concise while preserving your message.
  • Hashtag suggestions - click the hashtag button to get AI-generated hashtag suggestions relevant to your content. Click any suggestion to insert it.
  • Emoji picker - insert emojis without switching keyboards.
  • Link insertion - add a URL to your post with automatic formatting.

Adding media

Click Add Media in the visual assets section to open the media dialog. You can add up to 10 images per post, or a single video. See the Media Library article for details on all the media sources available (upload, library, stock photos, GIFs, and AI-generated images).

Selecting platforms

In the right panel under Publish To, check the destinations you want this post to go to. Only connected, active destinations appear. You need at least one destination selected before you can save or schedule the post.
